Orangery Extension in Chalfont St. Peter
The clients wanted to extend the kitchen by opening it up into a large orangery, with utility room on the side.
The kitchen window is the one with the hose reel beneath it.

The existing slabs were lifted as the mechanical excavator prepared to dig the new trenches
Loose earth and a drainage pipe mean shuttering was required
Further shuttering
Foundations ready to pour concrete
Concrete poured and a new soakaway dug, this is a big hole beneath the plywood board. You can see the pipe running from this back to the extension which will be connected to the rainwater pipes at a later stage.
We also dug out in preparation for a new patio to be laid at a later stage, once all the messy jobs such as plastering are complete. Using the dumper we bought in many tonnes of granite chippings (Type 1 M.O.T.) for use as a base for the patio.
Top soil has also been saved for the client to use.
Brickwork being set out. We use concrete blocks where there will be no visible brickwork.

The new base is being compacted.

Normally the walls are plastered before the floor is screeded, but better to screed the floor first in this case.
