Orangery / Conservatory Company Near Me

Conservatory Company near me and orangery companies near me.

Our factory is located in Studham, Bedfordshire, which is ideally located to serve the south of England and the south midlands, in particular Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Essex and Berkshire. Whilst we have constructed conservatories for previous clients who have moved as far away as Jersey, it’s generally preferable to focus on a more local area. This helps to keep travelling costs down and allows us to provide a better service.

The main benefits of using a local company for your conservatory are cost, efficiency and a direct and personal service. We also have great experience with local Planning and Building Control departments and local knowledge of technical aspects such as brick types and ground conditions.

Full Build

Our core business is to construct conservatories from concept to completion. After the conservatory design is agreed, we would take care of any regulatory requirements, such as Planning Permission, Listed building Consent or Building Control Applications.

When works starts, our in-house building team would excavate the foundations and construct the brick base. This is generally straightforward, however over the years we’ve overcome many unforeseen complications and this experience allows us to take most problems in our stride.

Typically we manufacture the conservatory whilst the base is being built, confident in the knowledge that our own bricklayers will build the base accurately, according to the plans. The conservatory is then installed by one of our long-serving fitting teams and before long the structure is watertight and secure.

The final phase of the build involves internal finishing, including electrics, plumbing, plastering, flooring and decorating. We can take care of all of these aspects, although we are equally happy to coordinate with third-party tradesmen.

Design, Manufacture and Install

For conservatory projects further afield, it can make more sense for a local builder to construct the brick base. This could also be the case for conservatories to be built locally where there is another builder involved, where the conservatory may be a small part of a bigger project.

Once the design is finalised, we would take care of Planning Permission if required, or liaise with the client’s architect if there is one involved. We would then provide detailed drawings for the client’s builder to build to. In most cases, we would check the as-built measurements during construction so it is our responsibility that the conservatory and the brick base marry up.

As above, our experienced installation teams would install the conservatory creating a watertight and secure structure.

In this scenario where we are not be undertaking the full build, there is still the option of us taking care of some of the internal finishing, if required or if it would be best for the project.

Lantern Only

We can supply and install our hardwood roof lanterns throughout most of England.  For a lantern to be fitted on a new opening, it’s not normally necessary for us to survey, measurements can be agreed remotely saving time and expense.

Although the lantern gets fully built in the workshop, it is disassembled for painting and comes to site in sections. The hardwood components and the glass are quite heavy, so the bulk of the re-assembly is done in its final position.

It is better that our fitters do this, they know the product inside out and quick and efficient.
