Timber Orangeries

The majority of conservatories and orangeries we have built over the years were manufactured in hardwood. Being an extremely versatile material, it is possible to make conservatory roofs of bewildering complexity and window details to match period features or contemporary tastes. Hardwood frames can be painted in any colour, from subtle shades to bold hues. A wide range of stains are also available, all of which allow the natural beauty of the hardwood to show through.

At our workshop in Bedfordshire, we manufacture the entire hardwood orangery; the windows, doors, roof lantern and decorative details. This gives us complete control over the design and quality of the timber products, but also means we are not dependant on third party suppliers for vital components.

Our 3D design software is fully integrated into our manufacturing process, allowing us to create an accurate representation of the final result. Once the initial drawings are agreed, we can then take care of everything from the initial planning application, foundations and brickwork to the final finishing. However in situations where the timber orangery is part of a greater scheme, it often makes sense for us to supply and install just the orangery structure.

Made in Britain

We have also gained the Made in Britain accreditation as our products are manufactured locally and the majority of the components used are also made onshore.

Not only does this mean a shorter and more secure supply chain, our clients also benefit from the fact that everything is geared up to suit the British market in term of both traditional appearance and durability.

The majority of British joinery companies manufacture windows and doors from hardwood as this is most suited to the moist climate, however many European suppliers will fabricate from softwood which lasts well in the drier continental weather.

Ethically Sourced

Our luxury timber orangeries are made from two primary components; Accoya and Red Grandis, both of which come from managed plantations and are FSC 100% certified.

Red Grandis is a hardwood and is used in the main structural components, windows, doors and roofs where strength is required. Accoya, and it’s partner Tricoya, are known as miracle products for their durability and are used in critical areas where weathering can take its toll, such as cills, entablatures, astragal bars and pilasters.

We are an Approved Accoya Manufacturer, Accoya is premium timber product with superior stability and durability. It is fully FCS certified and boasts a range of environmental credentials making it one of the most eco-friendly building products available.
